What makes it different from other products?
As oppose to conventional products, the process of hand stitching is time consuming and labor intensive as they are made entirely by hand by individually cutting and sewing them together. There are variations based on the stitch and the use of the product for which either a single or double thread technique is required. While these hand stitched offerings may take a lot longer to create than machine-stitched ones, they almost always are more detailed and bear the priceless stamp of exclusivity.
What it is made of?
The products is being made using 100% pure jute and we strive to do our best to do everything we can to lessen the impact on the environment.
The jute fibers are first extracted by a process called retting wherein jute stems are bundled together and immersed in low, running water. After which, in a process called stripping, the non-fibrous matter is scraped off, while the fibers found inside the jute stem are retained for weaving by talented women artisans from India.
Where is it come from?
The product is from India and it is manufactured in the North West region where the majority of jute cultivation takes place.
Inspired by our travels across South Asia and South East Asia, this offering is from our collection defined by stories - those of artisans, their crafts and their soil. Unique, affordable and on-trend, bears the artisanal stamp of exclusivity.
